October 10 London

The Aster House breakfast room is full of light and the whole place is quiet and calm.  We hadn’t pinned down our activities for the week so we needed to make some decisions.

Theater was at the top of my to do list.  David selected 2 plays and we bought tickets.  One for Monday night and one for Tuesday night. We went to Westminster Abbey but found that it was not open to walk ins.  So, we walked a few blocks to the Churchill War rooms.  Everyone recommended it and it is easy to see why. We stayed for over 3 hours and did not see it all. Who knew that he was an accomplished painter?! And, that the Japanese made anti-Churchill propaganda?

Walking back to the tube we came across a demonstration and changing of the guards at the Horse Guards Parade. London is a busy place!

David found a Korean restaurant (Yori) near the theater so we had grilled bulgogi and kimchi to eat. (We could have had Five Guys – they are everywhere!) Then we saw a wonderful production of “Good”.

From our limited experience, attending theater in London is not a two hour event. People arrive early and stay late, mixing and drinking top shelf cocktails. Intermissions are longer as well. Of course we had to experience it all.
