This was Saturday market day. Not David’s cup of tea so he had a day to himself while Debra and Cynthia visited the organic market and an art market. As with other days, Debra had her favorites to visit. First was the mole stand with a huge assortment of flavors and degrees of spice. Free tastings were offered and you could by paste or powder forms of each. We sampled a few and bought a lot. Nothing like those free samples to get you to overbuy. Nearby was a stand selling cinnamon and vanilla. Gotta have some of that, too. My cinnamon sticks at home are old. The appliqued pillow covers did not offer anything for us but Debra bought several bags at a vendor who does colorfully designed wax coated bags of various sizes. She favors the shopping bags.

Next we had two items to get for the house. Coffee beans and flowers. The beans were the biggest challenge. Ground coffee? Plenty. Debra convinced a man selling espressos to sell her some of his beans. We took home our purchases and had a little time to get ready for dinner out with a couple of Debra’s friends (Beverly and Cynthia!). On the way to dinner we saw a wedding party leaving the church – with their band, of course. Beverly said that a top of the line wedding has a mescal donkey wandering around through the crowd in front of the church.

For dinner, we met two of Debra’s SMA friends at a lovely intimate Italian restaurant (Firenze) where the owner/chef showed us one of his paintings. 1. Italian is very popular in SMA 2. Being a painter is very common in SMA.
