We said goodbye to Aix and heading to the Rhône. We had reservations for 3 nights in Visan at the Hotel du Midi. It was a lovely small hotel with relatively easy access to several famous sites. The owners are delightful people and helped us enormously finding dinner reservations and ideas for sight seeing.
On our way to Visan we stopped in Avignon and Pont du Gard. David and I had been to both before but they are lovely spots and we did not mind going again.

The next day we started with some wine tasting because of open and closing times. The Roman ruins sites stay open all day while the wine chateaux close for a couple of hours in the middle of the day. So, we tasted wine after breakfast!
Then we saw the arena in Orange – and a really interesting museum. And on to Vaison la Romaine for more Roman ruins. Lovely weather all the time.
