Saturday we stopped at the 7-eleven for tonic and cream cheese. Jill found whipped cream cheese but preferred normal. She asked the clerk if they had other cream cheese and this was his reply, “We don’t have anything.” Jill replied that they might do something about it and he said, “That’s management’s job.” It struck us all as very funny.
Today we drove to a park-and-ride location in Issaquah and took a bus into town. We bought tickets for the ferry to Bainbridge Island which can only be reached by ferry. By the time we got to the island we were all hungry so we went straight to lunch a t Nola’s. Nice but not particularly outstanding. Then we shopped for a couple of hours acquiring tee shirts, earrings, postcards, napkins, and even a handbag. We ended our island time at the BIMA where we were able to join a director lead tour. He gave excellent explanations of the art, the artists and the mission of the museum.
We took the ferry back to Seattle and went to a seafood restaurant for dinner. We had a good meal and time and then headed back to the bus stop. Unfortunately we just missed a bus and had to wait half an hour. But, the weather was nice and we eventually got the bus back to the park-and-ride and drove home. A quick dessert of leftover birthday cake and ice cream, a recap of plans for tomorrow, and off to bed.
