August 18 Seattle CHS

First full day together.  We all donned our gift from Carolyn robes and gathered for a light breakfast before our first day out.  After a “where’s my phone” delay we were off to Pike Street Market.  Carolyn made reservations at Pink Door for 12:30 allowing time to visit the market before lunch.  First stop was the vendor that throws fish through the air.  We joined the expectant crowd waiting to see the show.  After about 10 minutes Carolyn cupped her hands around her mouth and shouted to the crowd, “Buy a fish!!!”  After several such appeals one of the fish stand staff told her she was hired.

Once we saw a fish fly we found our way through the market stopping at several stalls for photos or shopping.  I bought pasta, George bought a “bun maker” for her hair.  Lunch was elegant and delicious.  Wild mushroom linguine, eggplant panini, roasted cauliflower with marcona almonds,…

We next headed down the road to see the sculpture garden.  Unbeknownst to Carolyn there was a Hempfest going on there.  So, we wandered around Calders and bong stalls and came across a partially outdoor Zumba class.  We had to join in!  Back home there were preparations for dinner, naps, showers and some prep for Carolyn’s birthday brunch tomorrow.  Jill fixed us a wonderful dinner.  George Ann led us in a short yoga session.  Carolyn’s sister, Bunker, stopped by.  We ate, talked about old classmates and helped clean up for tomorrow.

A wonderful day.
